Law Enforcement Basic Combat Lifesaver 2

Course Overview:

The Law Enforcement Basic Combat Lifesaver 2 course is an 8-hour advanced training session that builds upon the foundational skills learned in LEBCLS 1. Designed for law enforcement officers, this course focuses on real-world, scenario-based application of trauma care skills. It equips officers with the necessary knowledge and hands-on training to address a wide range of medical situations they may encounter in the field.

Adapted from Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) principles, this course integrates classroom lectures with field exercises to ensure officers are ready for emergencies. LEBCLS 2 emphasizes safe, effective care for injuries sustained in combat and tactical environments, but its applications extend to everyday life-saving situations.

Officers will engage in interactive, scenario-based exercises using moulage, casualties, and simulated distractions (such as noise, smoke, and stress). This immersive approach ensures that officers not only understand the medical procedures but also gain experience responding under stress in high-risk environments.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Recap of LEBCLS 1: Review and strengthen core principles of trauma care from the Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care, and Tactical Evacuation Care phases.
  • Advanced Triage & Trauma Management: Learn to assess and treat blunt and penetrating trauma in real-world, high-stress scenarios.
  • Scenario-Based Exercises: Participate in multiple practical exercises where officers will apply their skills in simulated emergency situations, including casualty care under stressful conditions.
  • Moulage & Simulated Casualties: Practice responding to simulated injuries with realistic moulage and scenarios, including paintball, airsoft, and simunition tools to replicate actual combat or field conditions.
  • Stress & Environmental Factors: Train in environments where noise, smoke, and other distractions are used to simulate the chaos officers may face in the field.
  • Personalized IFAK Training: Bring your Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) to become more familiar with its contents and learn how to use it efficiently in an emergency.
